Oh, well if that is the case than it could probably go either way. Could be good in terms of lower interest/more money given out. Could be bad do to too much red tape (which is actually a fear people have for healthcare as well).

Thanks for digging m0o, I am American laziness incarnate sometimes and probably would have never found it myself.

Anyways, I'm glad to see USA taking steps to ensure a healthier us. I read somewhere that we are ranked like 20 out of 30 for average health. That's a pretty shameful rank, I want to be number 1.

The only thing America is #1 at currently is imprisonment (highest Prisoners:Citizens).

If there is anything that america will NEVER be #1 at, it is healthcare.

You seem to get by OKAY though because of your lifestyles, so its not really as big an issue as the media makes it out to be (FOX NEWS PRESENTS SOME GUY WHO WENT OUTSIDE AND DIED. HE COULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE IF WE HAD BETTER HEALTHCARE)

I read somewhere that something ludicrous like 60% of americans have never been to the dentist (or was that a non-compulsory visit?). That's worse than the UK.
How is the health of an entire nation calculated and subsequently ranked, again? Because if the do it by coverage, we're obviously low on the list-- quality of care is another story.

Also, War's post

We were also the only developed nation in town without some sort of socialized medicine.
