Christmas Lottery
Earlier this year GMtourneys were so much more fun, one time I won a Titan Right Leg Motion Trail, I was so excited and happy. I didn't care about the prize, I cared about the good time I was having with everyone and the excitement from the matches. I was happier still when the line grew thinner, and all I could see was some pretty well known players, good players, and for me, to beat them was my goal and my little prize to myself.

Even nowadays GMtourneys give out some nice prizes, who cares about how much they are worth, you're only looking for the colour, and not the cost right? 128 texture items are great!

Just think of those 500tc/750tc tourneys. You win and get tc, whoop-di-doo. You only ever go into those tournies to get the tc, not to have a good time with fellow toribashers. But when you enter GMtourneys, you look at your opponents and think, "holy crap how am I gonna beat him", and think that if you beat him, people will recognize you as a good player, etc.
@Fenris: This thread is not about GMs. This thread is about GMtourneys and ideas for it.
Hosted >3000 events b4 you even was born.
MY SUPER ART SHOP IS OPEN AGAIN
GMtournies are made for fun; not for gaining tc,
%70 of these comments are about the prizes being too cheap. I have to disagree, if you want tc, go to autotourneys instead of waiting 20 minutes for a chronos force.

Also about peoples behaviours, I think the GM team is generally fine, but there are some people that irritates me alot. Here is a conversation I had while I was in an auto tourney;

Somerandomguy: YEAH YOU NIGGER I WON FUCKING NIGGER HAHAHA
A GM: Please don't use vulgar language.
Somerandomguy: What is vulgar? I didn't do anything wrong!
Me: You used the word nigger, it's kinda racist.
A GM: Chamara you fucking idiot do not respond by using vulgar language. You should've known that you idiot, didn't your family send you to school?

Not naming names but guys like these make me want to quit the game, I don't know how he made it to GM.

Also snake, I disagree, some people (for example, me) have no life and spend like 20 minutes minimum for this game, so being gm doesn't feel like a job at all.
They need to start hosting tc tournaments again, back then there were no complaining about crappy prizes people went had fun and were satisfied after. Now people are finding it pointless to sit 20 mins just to win a cheap ass item. These gm tourneys are supposed to be different then the tourney servers so you should gain more from winning them.

If it's entirely for fun, then why have a prize in the first place?

Think of the prize as a topping for your ice cream.
Everybody has a different reason to play those tourneys. Maybe I want to win the tourney so I can get the prize, which is often. Just because I want the prize doesn't mean I only came here for that, because you don't know what I'm going to do with it.

well, when you will host tourneys for 1-3 month or so, it will start to feels like a job, belive me.

wat, no

If you think being a GM was worthy of being called a job... then I don't know

I was a GM for nearly 2 years and liked every day of it.
I quit due to my computer going to shit and mental health issues.

sure it was a routine that you followed but you had so much freedom you can't believe it. Everyday was different and if you really think GM was a job (job=chore to me in this context) you really should reconsider why you were a GM in the first place. Sure, we all had days where he didn't want to host anything and I get that. But I stayed this long because I did enjoy hosting and planning events. I treated 99.9% of the players in my room with respect and a "non-inferior" being. Hosting and being a part of the group was a blast and probably the most fun I've had here in the Toribash community.

I feel like this is turning to a "rant about the GMs" thread, so I will leave my post at this.
