Secret Santa 2024
In Romania, my country we at the moment have 100 cases more or less that have been tested and like 13k people in quarantine and self isolation. Here schools and universities are closed til 31 of this month with the possibility of extention of this period til like Easter is over. Also most pubs, places and stores (expect super markets and pharmacies and also hospitals ofc) are closed. There isn't allowed any event with more than 100 people participating. Yeah some shelves here are empty too, but they are refilled like at most the next day. People gone crazy on meat of any kind, vegetables, fruits, products made of cereals and toilet paper and maybe some canned food. Like ffs people wake up, this shit isn't that bad as other pandemics, yes we have to listen to these rules, but don't go crazy on emptying the stores Christ's sake the end of the world isn't comming.
the netherlands has >600 cases, the decision to close high schools and elementary schools hasn't been made yet. my uni is having an "education-free" week, after which online schooling will commence. deadlines still stand. gatherings of >= 100 people are forbidden (arbitrary line if you ask me, using people/m^2 would be more conducive to the desired outcome i think). shelves are emptying. people starting to work from home.
alright guy

I think we will have thousands of confirmed cases by next week. Look at italy. France and germany were same as us a week ago. Things are going to get worse.

Well we have even more serious restrictions now that we have over 100 cases, 118 exactly. Any public event is cancelled and in stores/supermarkets there aren't allowed more than 50 persons once inside.

My favorite ramen spot only does sit down, no take out, so they're just fucked

Yeh very similar things are happening here. There is no kind of active lockdown here but restaurants and pubs are all completely empty. Most of my friends who work in those places have been laid off.

The only retails firms who will survive this are the ones who already have legal monopolies, which is a depressing thought. Who needs a highstreet full of shops when you can just have 30 Tescos?!

British folks: what do you think of your government's choice? Do you think it's a fair one? Would you actually prefer a whole shutdown? Just wanted to hear your opinions
