Hi, I would like to join [Meta]game, Why? I was trying to find a clan that is Active, Friendly, and Awsome, so I found [Meta] witch is very Active and Friendly from what I have seen. I know a few people in this clan (Risk, Templar, Erif, Toolfree, xJuicy, Tbashdude and xlolxtimex) so I figured I'd get along pretty quick with this clan. How can I help this clan? Well I can't help much on the tc part, but I can help with being active and I will always warn before I go inactive, I am a good fighter in mods such as (ABD, Aikido, Spar) so I could help in clan wars. If you want me to join or come for a war somewhere, always message me from skype because I sometimes I read my skype messages and reply quickly.

Now I will go into some background stuff, where do I live? Ontario, Toronto. What activities do I do? Well I am very sporty and active, I play hockey, soccer, basketball, Karate. I do swimming and bike riding everyday, but I always manage to find some time to play toribash in a normal 24 hour day. I normaly don't like going into too much detail in my personal life so that is all I have to say.

Thank you so much for your time! I hope you consider and accept me!
D&D: The presumably generic campaign with a decidedly nongeneric placeholder name
Relevant information will be made available here, within the first post of this thread.

Anything you definitely want me to see, and any questions you have regarding the campaign can be posted here, in case I am not viewing the Skype group.

The first session begins on 22/06/2014, at 21:00 (UTC−04:00).

Tasks to be completed before the adventure begins:
[X] Set date and time for weekly session
[X] Acquire DM
[X] Acquire functional party
[ ] Build the world (after acquiring characters' backstories)
[ ] Fine-tune the built world
[X] Complete a tutorial session
[ ] Replace placeholder name with actual campaign name

I've rolled a Halfling Rogue specialised in stealth, agility and deception. He is highly resentful towards all magic due to the death of his family at the hands of a pyromancer, and is actively aggressive towards untrusted wielders of magic. This could cause issues within the party depending on the characters the others choose, and no doubt some good role play.

I'll edit this post with the Character Sheet and backstory as I develop them.

Hope to see some new faces in this session!

A clavis, of sorts
A pedantic DM is a lawful DM.

Several terms in this campaign will differ from the "official" D&D terms, as well as common fantasy terms.

This list is far from complete.
1, In non-alchemical contexts, transmutation (especially the arcane subschool) will be referred to as transfiguration.
2. Variants of metals will be named according to their Latin/Greek name.
Cold iron (completely different from the cold iron of folklore) -> ferrum (adj. ferric)
Alchemical silver -> argentum (adj. silvered -> argent)
3. The set of "were-" monsters will not be named lycanthrope (this term will be used to refer only to werewolves), but instead will be named teranthrope. Tera-, an SI suffix, is derived from Ancient Greek τέρας (téras, “monster”).
4. The suffix -mancy (and by extension, -mancer) will be replaced with a suffix of an appropriate meaning. While I would like to use -urgy and -urgist (as in metallurgy), a more fantasy-specific suffix will be used.
pyromancy -> pyromagy (or pyromagick, in certain cases)
pyromancer -> pyromagus (pronunciation of "magus" here)
pyromancers -> pyromagi (pronunciation of "magi", the second one being preferred)
pyromantic -> pyromagical

House rules
Errata
i. Tiamat casts evil and law spells as a twenty-first-level caster, rather than a twenty-oneth-level caster. This applies to all other instances of typing error in ordinal numbers.

Spells and magical items
i. Spell triggers for wands will require a special gesture in place of a trigger word. Treat this as a somatic component that is not subject to arcane spell failure.

Extradimensional space and nondimensional space
Extradimensional space (EDS) exists within the boundaries of a plane. These are the dimensions apart from the usual three spacial dimensions and one temporal dimension, and they are usually small enough to be negligible.
Nondimensional space (NDS) exists between the boundaries of two or more planes. They do not include any dimensions, because the laws of physics are not identical across planes.

All further rulings relating to EDS/NDS will be made according to the above definitions.

i. They are not identical.
ii. Extradimensional space does not have a special interaction with nondimensional space, unless otherwise specified (such as the interaction between a bag of holding and a portable hole).
iii. If a nondimensional space exists inside another nondimensional space, then the container of the inner nondimensional space is kept intact. When this container is removed from the outer nondimensional space, all of its contents will be forever lost (but they remain so long as they still exist within that extradimensional space).
iv. If an extradimensional space is created within another extradimensional space, all contents from both spaces will be violently expelled, and both spaces will cease to exist afterward. All magical items must individually make fortitude saves, and if any item fails that save, its magical properties are lost. If any creature exists within the outer extradimensional space, and without the inner extradimensional space, they must make a reflex save. If the save fails, that character ceases to exist, as if they have been destroyed by a sphere of annihilation.

In case I haven't received it, I would prefer to have the final version of your character sheet here.
Session 1 recapitulation:

Monster kill count: 8
Mysterious strangers encountered: 1
Bartenders killed: 0
Pyromaguses defeated: 1

One fight was averted by a magical automaton. One bartending gnome was spared.
The party was split for the first time, albeit briefly. The two good-aligned characters refused to help a forgotten god.

Offscreen events:
The party arrives at Stonewynn to rest for the night. On account of defeating the pyromagus and allowing people to once again come and go from the town freely, you were all offered free rooms and services. Upon waking the next day, you notice a very peculiar statue in front of the town library. It is of a faceless, robed humanoid, holding a book in one hand. You can see that the statue also has the lower part of a skull helm, and it looks almost exactly like that helm that you saw on the unknown god. Horace seems amused by it.
