Why isn't it our place to decided who's life is worth more? We are the most advanced race. You say we are animals. Well then, as animals, it would be natural of us to kill that which is weaker than us.

Thats a really great point you're making here, so basically, since we are able to, we should kill everything that crosses our path ?
<Alan> lol, rutz, it might be cool to smell your ass all the time you touch the mic

If we choose too, yes.

They kill to survive, they don't debate whether the thing they kill's life is worth less than theirs. THEN AGAIN THEY ARE NOT THAT DEEP, BUT I DIGRESS. I suppose that's what separates us from them?
@ Rutz: I am well aware of how many animal products we use, and how much suffering is endured each day to bring those products.

Nature is not a pretty happy place where everyone gets what they want - it's a brutal meat grinder which is all about conflicts of interests. As it happens, humans rose to the top. And as sad as it is, Bob won't care that an animal whose ground flesh he now munches on screamed in agony and despair as it was being slaughtered.

BUT AT LEAST these things serve a tangible, productive purpose. At least there is solace in that. Killing an animal on a whim and throwing it to rot is just pointless barbarism.

Animals can give up on life too, not in a suicidal manner but they can definitely not try anymore. Therefore, they don't value it. They certainly don't value other animals lives as well.

It feeds other animals that scavenge it. It can decrease the amount of things that the dog would have consumed later in life. There are plenty of things it's death served.

So what you're saying is because we have the ability to use reason, our lives are somehow worth more than animals' lives? Worth more to who, exactly? The planet? We all decompose into the same organic substances. I'd venture to guess that the only people that give a shit about is is us.
I'd like to bring to all of your memories that thread of what you would do on an island with another person on it, most if not all of you said you would kill the other person and etc, thereby deciding your life has more value.

Odlov, makeup and etc is a productive purpose?

I cannot agree with you more. As long as the killing leads to a reasonable end result like feeding someone, ( torture isnt really my thing tho, i could do without my animal tested medicine and penis enlarging supplements ) and doesnt serve the single purpose of feeling superior ( trophy hunting..hate that.. ) its fine with me, since that is actually in harmony with nature..somewhat...well not really to the extend we're using it for but anyway. Killing for the sole nature of keeping your own species going is good, normal..always has been.

Edit: New thread should be made, we're sliding off topic *looks at odlov*
