it does though i mean assuming god is this mega omnicient being, it seems likely that their is no way that the human mind can even comprehend it, so we would just naturaly invision god after ourselves since that is all we really know.

Errrm but we have the bible to give us enough imformation to tell us what hes kind of like. I have the feeling uve never read it before. It is true we cant understand God at all but we know some things about him.

To someone who would assume that God is existant solely through Faith, it makes perfect sense (now stop being so tunnel visioned).

I mean, if He WAS used to garner attention and bring people under a common thought process, of course, the best way is to personify Him as of our image. So it COULD have been done in reverse.

I'm not saying anything on what I'd think of that though. Quite frankly, the only thing that grabs me is that thing about God Loving... I'm certain, in the New Testament, he was a very loving, caring Lord, but in the Old Testament, he was full of wrath to his enemies, destroying at least 2 civilisations because he thought they were inferior to his image. Going by that alone is both evidence that God does NOT simply convey Love, but could also be seen as His fallability.

Now, that last point confuses me.
Q = QUAKER OATS
Three rules of Q - 1. Qegola and Quarantine both start with Q. 2. There is no U in Qegola. 3. Qegola is you new god.

So a man walks into a bar with a monkey. I forgot the rest of the joke but your mom is a whore.
Now remember that the Old Testament largely represents the beliefs of the Jews, while it is the New Testament that is kind of, the Christian department. The nature of God differs between religions.

Ohk let me explain it like this, each sin is worth death and the civilisations that He destroyed were completely wicked and sexualy immoral so really they deserved it. You may think that death is wayy overdoing it for just 1 sin but we have no say since God created everything, he decides really. Now I dont really know but im guessing that the reason he was so loving in the New Testiment and not the Old was because Jesus hadnt died on the cross at that point, and when he did, Jesus took the blame of every sin that would ever be commited and that had been commited.
Well, here's an ultimatum for ya then. If God is almighty, why did he create forbidden things that he himself doesn't like? It's like giving a teenager loads of porn and then telling him that if he faps, you're gonna shoot him.

Well we dont really know since man cannot understand God but i guess for some sort of test for mankind.
You're making it sound like God is some kind of scientist, and he's currently testing the prototypes of his final creation.
Well... I'm an atheist, but I personally think that Christianity was adulterated over the years, and many "supposedly forbidden" forms paganisms were introduced to it by the roman empire, an empire with some strong roots of paganism... Roman paganism. All the days of festival, the cults (Like the Mithraism for example), and all the Saints. (remember, for most of monotheist religions having saints is a blasphemy, and you still have them nowadays in Christianity! Specially in the Roman Catholic Church)
It was a roman the guy that ordered the death of Jesus Christ, Poncio Pilatus, then the romans took over the Christian religious movement, his followers.
Ever since, many mundane and nasty things have happened in the history of Christianity.
From the way to spread Christianity, to the Indulgences. A lot of corruption and wrong doings.
If you know the history on how Lutheranism was created, you'll know that many wrong things were happening at that time...
You had people burned alive because of their beliefs, Indigenous people striped out of their culture and gods, slaves converted for a easier way to use them, and so on... Christianity has been a tool of the imperial power to reinforce it's sphere of influence over a region much like Spain did with Christianity in the Americas or the Portuguese did with the African colonies.

I think that many bad values are transmitted by the bible and religions, like sexism. You can't even have a woman on the command of the Catholic Church. Not even priestesses...

Many things changed, many things need to change. Most religions just look too imperfect to me to even accept that they' were inspired by anything divine, superior, like a god.

Plus i think that many people consider themselves religious, but they lack in spirituality. Either they look like they're part of some trend/fashion, or they don't really know the nature of what they believe in.

But I'd personally recommend these documentaries:

"Penn & Teller Bullshit: The Bible"
"Zeitgeist"

You can find both in the Internet.

PS: The white image of Jesus Christ is in fact based on the face of Pope Alexander VI's second son, Cesare Borgia. Jesus Christ, as a Hebrew, was certainly not some light eyed and light hair colored dude.

Ps2: Check about the document called "Crimen sollicitationis". another dirty little secret about the Vatican.
