You make good points Jay, but think about this. If everyone multilogged, just
how much would your waiting time be reduced by? None. And how many people
can the servers host? Half the normal. For example, let's say that we have a maximum
capacity of 1000 players in total for all servers. That would, of course, be 1000
players playing normally. However, it would only be 500 double-loggers. What about
the other 500? Don't they deserve to play as well? Apparently not, because your
desires to play is so much more important than theirs.
That's basically what one says if one double-logs. "I'm more important than that
person, and as such do i deserve to play more often."
Think about it like this. Whenever you double-log, there's one less person who
can have fun.
And this is totally unrelated to TC, Qi, shit-colors and piss-textures, you're
taking away the ground essence of the game, fun, away from others.

- i dont play in many servers ALL the time, and if i do, its never 4 as harlequin says, normally just taek kuon + some crazy ass mod

- overfilled rooms will NOT stop being overfilled if ppl stop double logging. you cant tell me all the overfilling problems are due to double loggers. its impossible.

this is exactly my point. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE BECAUSE WE MAY NOT HAVE THE SERVER.EXE, or just MORE ROOMS, which makes me finding another solution aka double logging. its not like its more fun then a room with FEW people, where i can just stay-and-play.

how about you stop blaming the symptoms and blame the bosses for being money-greedy ****s and not giving us the possibility to just host ourselves as much we like, like in ALMOST EVERY DECENT ONLINE GAME, just for the sake of 50k for server rent?

seriously, what the hell with that? why not just let everyone host his own server whenever he likes, public or pass protected, as he likes, with player number limit option which he can set as he likes, and remove double login option?
look at gamespy, its a piece of crap, but even they managed to solve ALL that stuff in a far more palyer-friendly way then it is done here.

well, ownzillas, actually the guys got the point ,that if im double logged, someone else has to wait more. thou, i dont see myself as the big bad-ass evil doer. blame the guys who dont give me the servers.exe.

actually, i would even pay for "toribash hoster version", where i can host my own server and configure it as i like (public or pass-protected, and with variable max. player number)

im not talking about the crappy rent-a-server, im talking about the posibility to really HAVE a server

I kind of agree with jay.
If they don't want us to do it fix the "bug". As a programmer i find it very lame.
They could jsut remove the previous connection on login so there are no "stuck session" problems eighter.
Also there aren't enough rooms to play certain mods for everyone.
My idea is to allow short term room hosting: room exists for as long the "host" is in it and costs like 100TC / hour or something. Maybe some restrictions on mods/ maxplayers. 50k for a room is way too much for casual players, and we sure won't pay real money just to play 1h with friends 2-3 times a week.

Jay, did you ever think about who is paying for the server? Nabi isn't as big as Blizzard (yet) and can't buy unlimited servers to host rooms. And if they give out the possibility to host rooms they get even less money and had to remove soon.
I'm sure Nabi would buy more servers if you gave them the money. But Toribash is freeware. They don't earn money if you play it, though they are working and improving it. They have to pay the programmers and the servers.

why should NABI host the server for me? im talking about just hosting myself, my PC as host, my traffic, etc.

all nabi has to do is list the server so everyone can see it (which is IMO not necessary, too).
like in every other online game which isnt MMORPG.
you host, you give IP to your frends and play with them. or you host and make server public so everyone can join YOUR machine.

about "freeware" - they earn a hell-load of money from the teenies who buy all the random colours.
its a far far FAR more productive way of earning money then making the game payware and giving the rest out for free.

for example mapple story works the same way, its free to DL so many people get it and get involved, and THEN, when the game owns them already, they want to have all the fancy stuff. same here.

i would actually pay for a decently working, fully functional toribash. for the game. not for the colours or for the possibility of hosting a half-assed server for rent. just for the fully functional game.

It's free to play toribash now. When something's free, you can't complain about it not being "perfect" . Nabi has to pay for the servers, and makes money from loaning them to clans, and selling colours/tex etc.

This isnt cod4, you didnt pay for it. There's no grounds for you to complain on.

Back on double llogging and the likes :If everyone did it, then the overfilling would just get stupid. Your right to play is no greater than anyone else's, and if you're going to make them wait longer, so that you can play quicker, then that's really a quite lame and immature attitude.

And you can pay for your own server. And kick ppl from it etc so you never have to wait in the queue. ( take ryokumaru's server as an example ).

sorry for wall of text. But maybe this'll make it clearer.

1. constantly kicking everyone is not a really nice way to keep your server just for your buddies. it makes you look like a total dick. can you make ur server pass-protected?

2. if there are "no grounds to complain on" for me, and if everyone is so fuckin equal ,then there is no ground for YOU as well to complain about double loggers. It's free to play toribash now. When something's free, you can't complain about it not being "perfect".

read what i wrote in the previous post. if they would just let the players host themselves - AKA HAVING MY SERVER ON MY MACHINE , USING MY TRAFFIC- they wouldnt have to pay for the servers.
