Yes but what about the other form of living, being happy with your life. One day someone could just give up, not being dead persay, that person could be perfectly healthy, but they could be dead in the sense of finding no pleasure in life, therefor not really living.

If we were all immortal, that would be bad too. Overpopulation and eternal suffering.

Seriously, can we stop with the touchy-feely "oh but living a long time isn't really living, you have to find happiness and pleasure" stuff? That's not what the discussion is about, and it stopped being insightful th- Actually, it wasn't insightful to begin with. Seriously, cut it out.

I read somewhere on the internet that in about 20 years the average lifespan will be 125 years. Imagine how much that would upset the economy, people would have to work until they are 100, otherwise it would be hard for taxpayers to provide money to millions of pensioners that live for over 50 years while on a pension.

Can you find this article and post a link, please? I'd like to read this.

I cba to read any of the previous pages so I'm just going to give my input here.

We all know how long the average male and female can live, but I'm pretty sure that there are people in this world that can change that pretty easily. If not now then at least in a couple of years, I think it's being done to someone right now as an experiment too. Since we are physical beings it should be possible with the right method to make yourself immune to death or live for a very long time.

Lifespan all depends on your lifestyle. Eating right, not doing drugs or smoking, exercising, etc. So theoretically yes, we could all live to 125 but more likely, it will continue to stay constant and parallel to how we live today.

... And if you'd read the previous pages you'd know that that post contributed exactly nothing to the discussion. Congratulations, you've earned an infraction.

I'm not even going to break that post down like I usually do because my previous posts have covered every point you tried to make.

Not 100%. Tell someone with a genetic disease that all they have to do is improve their lifestyle, see how far that gets you.

I think it's just a matter of not giving in to these things.

Health may affect old age in sone cases, but not all.
The oldest verified person (122) smoked for at least 8 years and had a pretty bad lifestyle.
