I played with my friend who is an S2, and we always play together, and I deranked from GN3 to SEM, but it's okay because it was the funnest deranking process ever. 10/10 would derank again

I personally don't play competitive because of the ranks, I play because its 5x5 (which is less messy than 10x10 on casuals)
and it's the way counter strike should be, friendly fire, no starting defuse and shit
and getting paired with people on the same level as you is the best.
Otherwise, I don't care if I'm silver 1 or if I get Global Elite, as long as I have fun.
