Are you a four dimensional vector?

4 would be easier to explain cause directions are infinitely long horizontally but has 4 paths that are straight undebatably. if you start at pure horizonalness, you could only change positions vertically but if you're flexible and in control, the world is yours. just dont go too fast. ;>
