Level 28 and my faithful companion Lydia is still alive and kickin it. It's fun trying to keep her alive as we fight also extremely difficult at times, like trying to fight a dragon, while Krosis is being an ass hole shooting fire balls at you that do like 40 or 50 damage, Or Blood Dragon then a Giant right after.
She has an Ebony Bow of Flames which does like 18 fire damage and she has a Dwarven greatsword that does 13 damage of frost.

yeah smithing is way to easy to level, balances itself out when you have to waste level points on upgrading it though.

nothing else to really speak of other than that

can you make your own with your own enchantments later? or is it just a quest specific set?
Sometimes they give you non-enchanted sets of armour of the same kind, eg the Dark Brotherhood armour I have 2 sets of non-enchanted, so there probably is a way to find non-ench Nighting Gale armour.
Havn't found it yet though... which is a shame since it is hands down the best looking armour.
By the way, @everyone: when you get the chance, kill the jester, his armour is pretty awesome.
