Secret Santa 2024
The US probably doesn't even care, most likely it's just an act to appease someone

oh and if this turns into a country vs country thing I'm closing it
I'll explain the previous post.
Its actually pointing out one more reason why some ppl are prone to use pirated software.

Most of the stuff like games, movies and music comes from America. Lets face it, they have great ''entertainment companies'' and they have large cultural influence on the rest of the world. We like american movies, their software (especially games :P) and music.

Now, look at this example: Serbia. Serbia is almost a part of EU. To enter the EU they had to implement laws about piracy over internet and overal, so no more street sellers with CDs, DVDs etc, their ISPs watch when u dl something from the torrent sites and send u warnings that u will lose their services etc, u will be sued, jail, all that stuff... But that lasted like 1 year. It was just for show. Why?
Well, Serbia was bombarded by NATO during 1999, lots of civilian casualties, lots of things destroyed, and its not forgotten. Lets say they are holding a grudge.
Now, its impossible to defy America in any way, small country - what can they do? Well they can download torrents like crazy. And although they have laws against it, they are not implemented how they should. Basically, they closed one eye.
Sure, it looks like piracy is under control there. But only looks. Everyone who can, download whatever he/she can get, justifying the act with defiance toward America, with silent approval from government. CDs and DVDs are not selling in the open, just dial a number and u get what u need on your home address.
Its the old story: I can't touch u, u are too big, and I can't defeat u, but I can fuck you little by little.

NATO is not the USA. They are not the same thing. I suggest you learn before posting idiotic things.

No but honestly, I haven't heard or used torrent-finder before - this does effectively nothing to stop piracy. The US gov tried their luck at swinging their e-cock at a site, that's about it. Tell us when they've started doing this on a massive scale instead.

ALL HAIL THE METAPHOR!!
To be honest i don't care if this has already been said... but its not just the American government its ours in England too. these governments need to start concentrating on what is important to the people of there country not what is important to them.

gormin they are illegal thats why they take them down,
and illegal not only in america

Then question is: Why America care and the majority don't? If the server with that site is from Egypt, why Egypt government is not acting? Or why they act after they are warned by other large country? Or did Americans somehow just evade a law of that county to take that site down? And why? Is something behind it, maybe something more political then just anti-piracy crusade?
Do u must brake one law to execute another?

If I'm selling pirated stuff that I took from Americans, and I'm selling it in my country, and suddenly big black FBI van just park in front of my ''store'', take me and all pirated stuff inside and took me who knows where to rape me, do they have right to do this just because my government don't care and not doing anything? Can they brake like 10 laws of my country just cause they can? They are right, but methods then are wrong.
And what if in North Korea some wonder-kid makes a new kind of packing standard for music, 50% better and smaller then MP3. And he doesn't want to share with capitalist in America. If that program turns out on some American/Sweden/India/Greece/etc... site, and everyone starts to download it, will they be honest and take down that site? Will they not ''steal'' the coding because communists are too stubborn to share?
Come one... Its double standards, any way u look at it. Political games and scaring tactics.

Not to mention the attack on privacy which they do when they snoop around on your computer checking where u have been and what did u download in the last 24 h, while your ISP just don't give a fuck cause they are providing service and that is that. Unless they get squeezed by the neck by superpower. >]
80J4N we do that because america has companies like apple and other things that the shut down sites copy and those companies are american and its less of a hassle for them to go through it with our own government and no government lets you have 100% privacy so don't go saying we invade everyone's privacy only people who are being charged with a crime and your government does it too so don't say it's only America
