Secret Santa 2024
lol some kids only read in school and say that they have never read outside of school. i find this sad but it is reality
EEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHH
FAGGETOS TEAM JUDO
[My view] As a high school student, my school crams shitty books into my head, forces everyone to read over the summer, just for a quiz grade. This is probably the reason I hate reading because schools are too forceful with this on kids, I hope they get rid of most of the reading in school, as said before, it gives us all headaches. It's not like we all can't read, it's just we never choose to do so anymore because of how school is with books.

I don't know. I was always brought up that when I'm hand writting something, It should be done in a formal matter. Maybe it's only me, but that's how my parents brought me up.

Besides, go lurk some twitter and you will see everyone from Oprah to Palin using txt speak to gain speed.

Nope, but you must agree kids text far more than adults. I'm sure they do, and it's sad that they should have to do that to reach out to the voting population.

Thus you are saying it takes more effort to read than watch a movie.

If you can't see it the way I'm trying to get you to see, then forget it. I'm getting a little sick of this argument anyways... :/

I know I'm not the only one who dislikes text speak in these situations. For one thing. You seem to find it appropriate to not use it right now. And I thank you for that.

I don't think that. The question was do YOU think they do. I just said that kids seem to lack a little in that department. I never said that they should be reading more.
softmore is now a word.

So many people don't like reading. Be glad you like to read, stop arguing so much.

Best point against op is; I'd rather read the news online and posts on forums based on real life recent events that reading some fantasy bullshit (in general, because come name me a kid that reads bios for fun).

Last I checked the usage was fairly evenly spread from 16-30. Can you please link your source?

They don't do that to 'reach out' they do it because it is faster and easier, and wasting an extra 20 seconds per text to add proper grammar and punctuation would simply make the tool useless.

Well that's a bit of a sore loser way to act. If you misspoke admit it, don't just say "you just can't understand".

Of course, using txt speak indiscriminately is just as bad as using formal English indiscriminately.

So you would have them do something for no reason at all?

That doesn't make much sense. Why would you argue that if you have no reason.
if you dont like reading try and watch alot of movies to make up for it
