Two things I have recently done, just quick sketches and both done in maybe alittle over an hour.

That second one is saucy. The forehead looks great.

Too busy, textures look eh, lightning does not meet the 'balls' seemlessly.

Render the Electric by itself, then add lightning in Photoshop, I think that will look a lot better.

Be careful with the phong shading (Or whatever the smoothing is called in blender) and it's angle limit on the fractured object, Unless it breaks in soft edges.
Otherwise nice work.

Phong = a type of specular reflection.

Shading seems weird, though the fracture is nice...
