Sorry but it came into my head moments ago.

Their are artists that time will never forget. true artists that people adore and idol.
and there are only a few of them.

My main target is poetry. Ive seen so many "death, blah blah blah scars ect." poems.

Why? why is this all they write. a quarter of my high school is just....emo's.

I don't mind "Genuine" Emo's but why is this...trend becoming popular?

I never understood why people do that. so, my question regarding art is, is Emo "art" really...art? or just some trend teenagers with no friends go through.

No, people who pretend to be emo should be shipped off to Sudan, then they can whine and bitch all they want. Anyone BAWWing over the fact that you got a B on a test or that your not in the top 5 list on everyone's myspaces should be hit with a golf club until they really are black and blue. I can't even stand genuine emo's, they whine and complain about everything. If your not eating vegan slop from a bucket then they whine about you murdering animals. Pro-life? they whine that unborn children are "property" that can be disposed of because a woman cant simply give it to a foster home. Religious? They whine that religion causes wars. They expect everyone to change for their needs. Emo's can go get hit by a train for all I care.

Cuz they believe it is hardcore. Being hardcore is the rising trend, which in turn causes more emo people, more "skateboarders", and more jackasses.

Fortunately emo people are shunned at our school.

It IS art, but the only way any art should matter is whether or not it has any value to you. And yes, Emo is just a fad, it actually started like nearly a decade ago and when it did I thought it was cool. There was some good music they had going for them, but in the end it all turned out to be kinda silly. Its just like punk kids and metal kids and gangster kids and etc...

well, I mean well to any one who is commited to anything, obviously people who cut themselves may need to re-think their life.

But I dislike these, fat white childs, pretending to be gangster or emo or whatever.

I'm sorry, but I find it hard to find meaning in most art. I'm aware you express yourself but as for emo art, they don't seem to take meaning in rheir own work anyway.

I think Emo is sort of a darker spin on the whole postmodernism movement. Personally, I think it's pathetic, but hey, different strokes for different folks.

Well, you're negative feelings are easier to express in words than your positive feelings. The sad thing is; people focus on the depressing and small inconveniences of thier life more than they do the enjoyable and thrilling parts that occur every day. Some people find it healing to write down thier thoughts and feelings on paper and express them to the world. It might be thier way of making the pain go away, other than resorting to distractive pain (wrist cutting).

As for 'Posers' that act 'emo'....

Just let them be. They may like the attention it brings or the fashion that is worn by the group.

Poetry has always been predominately emo. The art form suits the medium.

I suppose, but the ones I remember most, don't just focus on their pain. I cant find the right word.

I...remember poetry like, the guy fawkes poem. he tried to blow up parliment.

I guess poems like "the Raven" are slightly emo, they are quite different from today's modern emo poems.
