3.04 still reboots my system.
3.1 did the same thing. Not sure what's causing it. I've exchanged emails with tech support but there was no conclusion there, really. The only thing in the text file he (she?) asked about were that I hadn't logged in (since the problem reboots before fully loading. The program window's outline comes up then splat goes my system) and three textures. And I was told that, basically, none of that should have anything to do with the problem.

Just remembered, and I dunno if this'll help any of the more intelligent members of the forum connect any dots, but the game Dwarf Fortress (http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/) also causes my system to reboot when I try to run it.

There has to be SOME common factor between the two. At least that's what I think. I dunno if anyone else has had Tori restart their computers lately, but ever since 3.x, it has for me. I'll keep looking. And if I actually figure out an answer, I'll post that, since I'm sure it could help SOMEONE. I can't be the only one suffering from this weird glitch X.x
Are the shaders automatically turned on?

Your computer might not be able to handle it when the program freezes and doesn't respond, and therefore reboots. check the text and see if shaders are turned on.

Hope that helped a bit.
failed to load texture data/textures/cursor/cb
failed to load texture data/textures/buttons/ready
failed to load texture data/textures//indicator
Unable to retrieve login information

That's all that's in that one file. Dunno if that makes any difference. Same thing tech asked me to copy and paste. Dunno why any of that would make a difference, though.
Yeah, this actually happens at my TAFE (school) and the computers they have are quite good, they are like 3ghz processors and really new.
I will edit this post in a few hours with the computer specs.

Okay, the school computes specs are attached to this post.
It's actually a 2.8 dual core, heh.

Click on the start button, then run then type in DxDiag to see your computer stats.

That's strange. I have the same motherboard chipset and use the same onboard graphics but I don't have that problem. Perhaps your school turned off the hardware acceleration?

Chibisoma: What system are you using currently?
Hmm .. okay Dranix. So how would you turn it on?

  1. Start the Display applet in Control Panel (go to Start, Control Panel, then click Display).
  2. From the General tab, click Advanced, then select the Troubleshoot tab.
  3. Move the "Hardware acceleration" pointer to Full.
  4. Click OK.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. System information is:

As far as admin's account goes, there's nothing under display like that for me. Got onboard video, no video card, so... I hope the above is what was being looked for. I can just throw the whole dxdiag text file up if more than this is needed - don't want to make a giant, spammy-looking post with everything.

Edit: I did find that hardware acceleration pointer. It's already at full. So...
