Yes obviously you are rank 8 because your obviously have 17 matches til you advance to blackbelt.. It based on qi not skill. just sayin.

Each belt has its own rank 1 based on Qi.
Someone with 19 Qi is rank 1 of all white belts, someone with 999 Qi is rank 1 of all brown belts.
When you reach black belt your rank will get bad again since you'll be one of the black belts with the least amount of Qi.
