This is old, but I feel it still is good to discuss. I lost the link to the article, but here's a summary of it.

A house is being robbed and kid hides in bathroom with a phone and calls cops.
The mom taught him how to call 911 in the same morning.

Do you feel this 6 year old boy is a hero or do you think it's expected for this kid to do this?

well for a 6 year old he is a hero that he didnt freak out - and its good that he called 911
thou if it would be 2 weeks earlier he migth have already forgot

It is just commen sense to ring the police so i say he is not a hero, thats just my opinion though.

Meh. If he had fought with the robber to the death, then he'd be an hero.

lelz, i think he is a hero even though its common sense to call a police when there is danger. and odlov, a 6 year old kid fighting a robber who might have a weapon and is about half the times as big as him? i think the kid would've had grown up....

I fail to see what there is to discuss. Lucky coincidence that the child was taught that day what to do in a similar situation, had it been a few weeks/months later, I doubt it would have been the same end result.

I agree with Fee. All there is to do about a situation for the little 6 year old is to call the police. If he'd stop them or something similar I'd call him a hero.

Well during the robbery, the robber breaks into the bathroom during the phone call. The robber ask what this kid is doing and he replies that he is calling the cops. In my opinion, I think this kid is rather stupid to say something like that. Afterwards, he was rewarded with a free trip to Chuck E. Cheese and a free stuffed animal, but that isn't on topic.

i think he's a hero. what more could he do? he's a kid, not superman. also shooter, he probably panicked. what if an armed robber busted into your bathroom while you're doin' your buisness and callin' the cops? yeah, and i almost forgot, youre 6 years old. see what i mean?
