Gay Rights
Should gays be allowed to marry or have any other rights that they are currently restricted of? If so or if not, why?
To be honest I feel all people should have equal rights, I can understand if their religion restricts it, but that wont stop people feeling what they feel. Personally I'm passive with the entire gay rights thing. I'm sure most of them don't follow the restrictions anyway.
Life is like Basketball. Aim, Concentrate, Balance and Following through. That's all you ever need to accomplish your goals.
yes they should... i also would say they should be able to adopt children but... thats my opinion...
i really dont get the sence of this discussion... anywhere...
the most often used argument ive heard was: Its against the sense of nature
but thats not true many animals (humans as well) are having their "gay sites"
i really dont get this discussion at all...
the modern world should be smart enough to recognize em as equal...

While most governments fight against discrimination, isn't not allowing homosexuals to marry purely such an act? Modifying a certain percentage of citizen's rights to marry as they please honestly doesn't make sense. Although a lot of the remaining percentage are basically disgusted by the idea of two homosexuals marrying, or homosexuals in general, the government just feeds these feelings by discrimination. Maybe if gays were allowed to marry everywhere, people would come to accept it, and it would be normal.

So there's my thoughts, I think they should have as much to right to marry who they please, unless of course their religion goes against it, which wanders off into another subject.
It's really not gay peoples fault that they're gay, so to speak.

So in reality, the fact that gays are sometimes rediculed in society is somewhat rediculous.

If it's not there fault to be gay... then who's fault is it

'Marriage' specifically means the union between a man and a woman.

It does not refer to a union between 2 people.

Gay people should not be allowed to 'marry', per say, but as displayed in an episode of family guy, they should have their own form of 'marriage', with similar rights.

Lets face it, marriage has always been a union between a man and a woman. Wouldn't it be easier to create something else to accommodate the homosexuals instead of pissing off entire institutions by attempting to change their rules?

Assuming that it is anyone's fault I guess the thing that made the things for which there is no known maker should be blamed.
Genes probably play a role in the development of sexual orientations.

I personally don't give a fuck which orientation someone has. And I shouldn't.
It is none of anyone's business but the person's who is affected.
Homesexuals should be allowed to marry if they want to.
Religion should play absolutely no role in the government.

That is a very silly statement as it is just a question of definiton.
Marriageis a social union or legal contract between people that creates kinship.

Oxford dictionary says

  • 1 the formal union of a man and a woman, typically as recognized by law, by which they become husband and wife:she has three children from a previous marriage
  • [mass noun] the state of being married:women want equality in marriage
  • informal a union between partners of the same sex; a civil partnership.
  • 2 a combination or mixture of elements:her music is a marriage of funk, jazz, and hip hop

How are you?
I was under the impression that marriage was a 'christian' idea, If christians don't want gays marrying that's fine but at the same time I think there shouldn't be benefits to marriage. It would be easier with some universal contract of commitment or something.
