Windows or Apple
This time, for computers. Which one would you choose and why?
Personally, I would choose Windows because you can get the same features for much cheaper. Also, it is not limited like the Mac. If you don't do anything stupid, you won't get a virus.

Windows: More games, more freedom, cheaper, awesome.

Mac: Great virus protection, good for work.

I'm probably off on these, but I wrote them from the top of my head. So I want your opinions, and also to prove a point to some people.
Purity Of Essence
Windows is a series of operating systems, Apple is a company that produces devices such as the iPad, iPhone, Macs, and software such as airplay, iOS and OSX.

No matter how you compare them, Mac will win every time against Window.

Also small note, you 'think' OSX has better virus protection because Apple do not announce patches. Windows patches often and makes public announcements as to when a vulnerability was fixed and what you should do to stay safe. Some OSX vulnerabilities have been around for a long time, and have remained unpatched, where as a windows virus, even for a legacy system such as XP, would be patched within a week or 2.
Why does Mac have better Virus protection? Because windows is used more, therefore is targeted more.

And yes, you're going to get a virus or something of the kind if you use Windows Defender; Microsoft knows that it sucks and even encourages users to get a different firewall.

Mac has Internet and.... uh.... what? Pretty much, they're good computers to have employees use. There's less stuff to tinker with.
Windows has everything else.
you can buy a PC for $600 that's the equal to a mac that's $1500.

But hey, at least you have a mac.

Also, its not like avoiding viruses are hard on windows.
T0ribush: I could not get into two worlds even if my life depended on it.

Well it wouldn't actually be equivalent, people buy Macs for their quality and name.

Mac doesn't have better virus protection, it has worse virus protection...

Macs have a wide variety of software available to them, and have configuration options comparable to Windows.

I guess you don't use Mac often / have never used Mac?
For those who can't grasp computers, get a mac. Virus protection shouldn't even come into play, Windows get viruses because people use Windows, but if you can't figure out how to avoid getting a virus, then get a Mac. By better I assume you mean performance. Mac users are limited to what they can do and the software that is available. Windows bassically has anything you could want as long as you have the know how to do it. Windows all day.
There's no better virus protection for macs, no one just bothers making viruses for them because of the low amount of the users.
Anyway, windows all the way, and mac's price is just brutally exaggerated.
It's All About Expansion
and a shocker!

my mac running a vm-med windows 7 scores higher on the windows experience index than my normal rigs

i CAN have my cake and eat it too
...
In what fields?

I can easily boost my rating from 5 to 9 with a few tweaks. I expect running through a VM player would have equal scores for most things, but HDD, memory, and perhaps some others could increase.

I doubt in practice it would outperform a native system.
