[1.01] What is Essence?
Essence is a social clan founded by rappunk23 in 2009 with a focus on community and forums. The main forum for Essence can be found here.

[1.02] What is Essence-Minor?
Essence-Minor (EssM) is a sub-clan of Essence dedicated to training low-qi players until they can graduate into Essence. It houses all players who wouldn't directly qualify for Essence and all new members of Essence until they're able to join the main ranks. The main thread for Essence-Minor can be found here.

[3.01] Applying to Essence (or Essence-Minor)
Applications to Essence are handled in the [Essence] Applications thread and applications to Essence-Minor are handled in the (EssM) Essence-Minor Applications thread. To apply to Essence, head to the appropriate thread and read through the application template and examples thoroughly, then post a freeform application. To apply to Essence-Minor, head to the appropriate thread and follow the entry guide.

[3.02] Applying for Administration in Essence (or Essence-Minor)
There are no application forms for administrative positions. If you would like a position among the administration, ask a member of the administration of the clan you're currently in.

[3.03] Requesting Alliances with Essence (Single/Clan)
To request an alliance, private message one of the administration members in Essence, or leave a request in our General Discussion thread.

[3.04] Requesting Alliances with Essence-Minor (Single/Clan)
Essence-Minor does not accept alliance requests. Ess-M is a sub-clan of Essence, and does not function independently of it. All alliances with Essence are also with Essence-Minor. For information about requesting an alliance with Essence, see section [3.03].

What is..
QI: The amounts of toribash games you've played. It's what determines your belt. (1qi = 1 game you've played)
Essence-Minor: A sub-clan of Essence for training new players to eventually join Essence. Think of it as a part of Essence set up for new members. Our tag is (EssM) and Essence-Minor is frequently referred to as Ess-M.
Essence: A social clan founded by rappunk23 in 2009. Essence is focused on community and having a good time. We use the toribash forum heavily to communicate.

Who to ask for help.
The current Essence-Minor leader or co-leader.

Expectations
We expect you to post on the Essence-Minor thread, to be active, and to work towards graduation.

Our Ranks
We have three staff positions (Leader, Co-Leader, and Staff), and five member positions (+1 - +5). Each increment in position number is closer to graduation, with +1 being the lowest. Specific descriptions are below.

Leader: Keeps Ess-M running smoothly.
Co-Leader: Assists the Leader in Ess-M management.
Staff: Helps with clan processes (recruiting, hosting, etc.).

+5: Trial-member in Essence waiting to be granted full-membership. (Already Graduated)
+4: Members above 800qi close to graduation or members above 1000qi waiting to be approved for graduation.
+3: Promising members apt for graduation below 800qi.
+2: New members who have been clan-active after joining. (Forum activity, attends servers, etc.)
+1: New members just recruited into Essence-Minor.

How to..
Graduate
Reach 1000qi and get approval from the Leader. Follow expectations, be forum-active, and progress through the ranks.

Gain QI
Win games in toribash. Essence-Minor servers are hosted regularly too, so check the Event Board on the Ess-M thread to see what's being hosted.

Rank up by staying active in Essence-Minor by posting on the Ess-M thread and attending servers.
