Well, there are a number of other ways.
If you are good with graphics programs like GIMP and Photoshop, you can make and sell art at art/textures thread. You can also earn big time by making clan banners, event banners, logos etc for clans. It will also earn you a good reputation.
You buy items as low as you can and sell them as high as you can. This is called marketing. You can make great profits once you get the hang of the flow of market.
Have a look at events thread from time to time and see if there is an event of your interest. Events are the quickest way to make tc.
