More in-depth multiplayer?
I have always wondered what it'd be like to have 4 people fighting simultaneously (maybe even more than 4). The search function isn't working so I couldn't look to see if others have posted any other posts regarding this idea. My question is, are there any plans for something like this, or is it not possible? I think it'd be very interesting/fun to have an all out brawl with 4 people. The only thing that I could think of that what make it complicated (other than coding and etc.) is the timer. Having 4 timers may be kind of odd, but I think it could be really fun!
It is currently on the list of things not to suggest. It has previously been implemented, but I'm pretty sure the implementation is currently broken. It also wasn't considered extremely high priority due to optimization problems in the physics engine. If you think it lags with 2 players, I hear it's quite a bit worse with 4.

It's not so much that this isn't EVER going to be implemented, but it's not on any TODO lists right now.*

The standardization of Toribash Squad roles may have gone too far!
Until they fix the way collisions are handled in this game there is no way we will see this. (I've posted 2-3 posts on this already but that was more or less the response i got.)

As it stands now there is already a massive amount of lag if you play game modes such as aikido and end up more or less hugging and or playing twister.

And honestly.... I don't know how they'd do that in a Turn based fighting game to begin with.

The only solution that comes to mind is that they make collisions between body parts have no friction apply.. not pass through the other joints (noclip or whatnot) but rather just glance off... asside from hands-shoulder/anything foot-hip/anything and head/anything collisions reducing lag when grappleing another player.

Even with this alone you'd still get massive amounts of lag if you all grab eachothers legs and arms... Also you'd all look silly.

But than you also need to factor in the rendering of 2 other players on top of that and realize that if 1 of the 4 players has a bad connection he will bog down the other three players...

Also if one player of 4 disconnects than the whole match will restart.. alot of rage quiters in toribash now.

one idea is to follow the idea of blowback on hits such as what happens in a specific ragdoll game called "Ragdoll Masters" made by rag doll soft but this would kind of destroy what toribash is and what it's become.

Your only real hope of seeing this any time soon is to hope they set up servers with a mod just for 2-2 or 4 player vs. and keep 1-1 the standard for this game in all the other servers.
