Yes, and that's what you shouldn't have done. No point in setting a 100 ED record
if someone just sets it to 50 and beats it. Records are supposed to be hard to beat,
and should be confined to one setting.

Yea but you beat it with different rules. Thats like saying you hold the record for a fastest time to run a mile because you ran 10 feet in under 20 seconds which would be quite a bit faster than the fastest mile.
