It kinda depends on what position you are in, and if you are meeting quotas or something of the sort.

If you aren't meeting expectations, a lot of the time the employers will go through history to make sure you are on task. Now, I don't know from first hand experience, but this is what my friend does who is an dentist and checks on his staff every now and then.
