Money in American Politics?
What do you guys think about large corporations and individuals giving huge amounts of money to almost all presidential candidates. How do you feel with the fact that wallstreet controls congress, and not the other way around.
I believe that is a false Meritocracy!, Many people in the U.S associate amount of work with amount of pay ,but this is not true. Inheritances make work pointless and give power to those who don't know how to manage it in a way that helps society, such as use their company to create jobs for the un-employed, or help homeless people re-integrate and become a part of society once again. they'd rather lobby for their own greed. It's a shame, I'd say there's a way around this.

What i Think would help:
U.S Citizens need to create their own platform to fund their own candidates. The candidates that are chosen should be tested on their knowledge of the U.S and the current state of the world, and the U.S to run and be funded. The test must be as UN-BIASED as possible, testing only general knowledge, and the people assigning the test must NOT ACCEPT BRIBES. Then and only then will the U.S have a true candidate that stands a chance and is truly voted on and supported and is not a clown like Donald Trump or Kanye West. It's a long shot but its possible.

Donald Trump is funding himself, and Kanye (if he did run) would probably go grassroots since no one would actually give a super pac to him.

That's why I mentioned this...

Donald Trump inherited his money, that's why he has the political power to put himself out there and run for presidency on his own platform with his own ideas.

If people were to donate to fund a campaign for an ACTUAL person who is a good leader and knows a lot about running a country with ALL the citizens of the U.S in mind, and everyone were to vote for him/her then maybe we would have a better country. I also mentioned before, the people that run that system would have to be un-biased and not take bribes. and i'll reiterate it's all hard to do, it most definitely would be worth it.

Well as an adult, and a small business owner in America. I can honestly say that we are a bit of an oligarchy. There is not a thing I nor 80% of the citizens can do sept go down with the ship.

Even our voting system is a farce, the Electoral College can smack down whoever we actually vote for anyway.

Americans no longer have anything to do with running America. It's its own beast now, fueled and ran by CEOs.

I think the correct way to define it would be a "Plutocratic Oligarchy" It defines the U.S fairly well.

Yes because killing thousands and thousands of people is most definitely a good way to fix this problem.
I'm not racist but, I don't particularly mind either way. As long as they lop of Donald trumps head and send it to me I'll be happy.

Very little of his money was inherited, and before he inherited anything he worked long and hard and had already made his fortune.

On a sidenote, even having money is considered to be political power in the US, after Trump made remarks about illegal mexican immigrants Forbes actually lowered his estimated net worth to just 3% of it's earlier estimate that year... Really shows which side Forbes is on doesn't it XD
<Faint> the rules have been stated quite clearly 3 times now from high staff
