How do you record sound without putting a microphone next to your speaker?

Err...By enabling a sound option in your video recording software?

Man, at least look through all the tabs. You choose a button in the "video" tab, which you press to start/end recording.

Look into changing the recording source to your sound input.
You can check if that's an option by opening up your sound settings.

I think he means recording his desktop. Use hypercam, I don't want to bother looking for a link. Fraps is for recording gaming.
