Blacky, I don't think the blurs are too necessary. They just make it look worse, imo.
The background color and the background itself maybe needs a little changes, not that their bad, but they don't fit with your tori too much. I always pictured a reddish background for your tori. :/

Hempel maybe you can get into GFX designs for banners etc?
It's similar to the stuff you make now, but more advanced and with a 2D template. That's why it's harder but you can still use 3D objects etc
