Why is there a minimum word length limit for searching? In your searches you have to have at least four characters in each word or it won't let you search for it. Any word under four characters entered will cause the entire search to be disallowed. I think that it's pointless and inconvenient and should be changed so you can search for anything no matter the length of what's entered.


Example: Somebody searches for information on IRC and gets this message.

"The search term you specified (IRC) is under the minimum word length (4) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.

If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific."


If they wanted their search to work, they would have to change their search term to something like "IRCZ." But then the only result would end up with this topic.

Yep, I have also found it to be lame. Nice thing that you wrote that.

I noticed that this is still in effect. Has anybody with power to change this actually read this? If so, please post.

Try searching for IRC* then. It should get past it
