well, you need a joint (wrists) with a very small part attached to it (hands) so that when you contract the wrist, it actually throws the hand becuase of how light the hand is. Now, it's still attached, so the game will try and pull it back to where it's supposed to go, and that's how the hands "teleport" in the spell mod. The only real problem is that they seem to only come back from behind, and nobody seems to have found a way to actually launch them forwards.
