Phrases
Ello'.
Been trying to increase my intellectual capacity the past few days. So I say to myself 'Hey! Learning latin phrases will make you sound smart'.
So that is what I've been doing.
If you know any then post them here.
I've learnt about 10 so far but I'll only post a few.
Carpe Diem : Seize the day
Tempus fugit : Time flies
et cetera.
So yeah, go ahead and post any that you know of.
Carpe Diem:Seize the day
Tempus fugit :Time flies
Carpe Terra: Literally "seize the land", but also "Seize the Earth".
Mors Venit: "Death comes". (usually paired with Tempus fugit... "Time flies, death comes")
ad astra per aspera: "to the stars through difficulties."
Veni, vidi, vici: "I came, I saw, I conquered"
Semper Fidelis: "Always Faithful."
E Plurbus Unum: From many, one.
Et tu, Brute? "You too, Brutus?" Said by Caesar to his 'friend' while being murdered by him and others. Can be said to someone who has betrayed you as a sophisticated way of saying "you backstabbing little bitch!".
Verba volant, scripta manent. : Words (talking) flies, text remains.
Divide et impera. : Divide (your opponents) and command.
