I just accidentally deleted the explorer process. I no longer have a desktop. I can't access word or photoshop and I have a geography project in for next Monday.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get it back? I am using a dell inspiron laptop.

Anyway, I would have suggested Ctrl+Alt+Delete, New Task and type 'explorer.exe'

System Restore.

I would have suggested an hero, coz I'm a dick when people are stressed. Like when my BFFL lost his passport in Japan and I was asking him if he wanted me to give a message to his parents when I got home.

I got to task and deleted explorer.exe from the list.
OFC if you restart...like turn off and turn on it gets back lol.

I have a dell laptop so I get what they call a "dell dock" which is like basically a bar across the top of my screen showing few of my favorite programs so I could still get to firefox and chatzilla.
Also, the new task thing is what Bdo suggested actually and it worked.
@Dbuhos: I couldn't restart my computer as I couldn't get to the restart button and the on/off button on my laptop doesn't ever shut down fully when you press it, it prevents any loss of data by doing this.
Also, as you can probably see, computers are not my strong point.

Have you solved this? If not, run "explorer.exe" as a command.
