Ok, here is the deal.

I recently (as in 2 days ago) set my system up for a duel boot into Linux (I need my XP OS for Visual Studio and such for development) but know absolutely nothing about it. I downloaded the Linux Client for Toribash here and cannot get it working. I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 I believe (a friend helped me set it up). When I use the command prompt to run the executable out of the folder (is there a way to make just doubleclicking work) I get the following:

./toribash_ubuntu7: error while loading shared libraries: libvorbisfile.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I have searched online to find a solution and thought I was near one, but it started going way over my head really fast. Any assistance would be appreciated.

vorbisfile... sounds like something to do with the ogg (music) file to me...
But sorry, I can't really help you... D=

Open the package manager in Ubuntu. Search for libsdl or something like that. Maybe sdl-lib, can't remember. Download it if it's not.

Search for the pack it tells you is missing. libvorbis. Download it. Rinse and repeat if you get more missing errors.

I only had to download sdl and some header thing.

I have already tried downloading the packages through the package manager. All it has is libvorbisfile, and that is downloaded and installed. I searched for libvorbisfile.so.3 and nothing was found. Any other advice?

Try the getlibs command

I gave that a shot and it said if found the file, was within LibVorbisFile3, then downloaded it, said I had it already, and did no updates. Any other suggestions? I really want to get this to work, but I'm getting a bit frustraited with this linux OS I am using.

Did you read the readme that came with the installer? It tells you what you need to install with apt-get. (you may have to use apt-cache search to search for the pkgs)

'coz on a fresh install of Ubuntu, it cannot run Toribash until the libs are all sorted.

I got it. I used getLibs to find the files again, but this time I called it on toribash itself

getlibs toribash_ubuntu7

And that took care of it.

Although, that's a nawty way. I've always just read the readmes and apt-getted what I needed.
