Stiff?
Ive been posting in the replay section and alot of people say im stiff. Could someone tell me how to fix this or point me in the direction of a tutorial?
ok when you are using hold all alot and the motions dont look very fluid... you can fix this by using the relax... hold all doesnt look nice and its stiff. try using relax in the first frame and using shift space which moves one frame at a time

stiffness can mean 2 things, not relaxed enough, or too robotic. the latter more. the thing with hold is that it is very very hard to pull off a decent flow with hold.some people have managed to pull that off.robotic is that when you move, not enough stuff is happening at the same time. here are 2 examples.in the first, i hold all and punch uke, in the second i relax all and punch uke.

Stiffness. A no-no for replays.
Stiffness basically is being not relaxed or just holding all joints without relaxing any joint at all.
You solve this by balancing your joints out. If you don't have to extend/hold/contract a joint, keep it relaxed so your Tori would'nt look like a moving stick. Relaxing can also help you lose your momentum so balance in joint movement is key for replays.

It's like you're trying to make stiff look bad. :|

It's just a matter of opinions, some people like relaxed and realistic, some people like held and unreal, some people like both mixed up (which is kind of a must if you wanna make cool replays which blow up people's minds).

Hold style is easier to start off with both in single player and multiplayer, but when you want to do something cool you most of the time have to know exactly what joints to move.
Relax style is harder style to start off with, at least in Multiplayer, because you tend to get easily DQ'd because you forget your relaxed joints, which will then be the cause of disqualification, unlike in hold style, where you don't need to mind about that.

Relax style is at the first time pretty hard, but in time you'll get used to it...
But if you expect extremely good replays if you just relax all and move random joints, you're absolutely wrong.
It annoys me how newbies are mistaken by some of the wannabe pros who say "when u relax all, u be ossum" to all those newbies, thus making most of the newbies mistaken, which makes them do the same.
And then they fail horribly in multiplayer.

Imho the best way is to mix both relaxing and holding, but that requires the most amount of skill to achieve.
Even though the results will be great, if you really know what you're doing.

So true, oh so true.
First of all learn to control you body first properly so you know instantly when your making replays what to do and what you shouldnt. It is lot more easier to start with stiff style.

Also true, it look amazingly stupid when someone looks like melted butter while moving. You should have somekind of backspine to your replays. That way it becomes more realistic and better looking.
