I apologize for the stupid question, but I've had no luck in finding more clear instructions on how to use freecam. there supposedly is something about capturing the position of the camera on certain frames and making a smooth motion between those frames, but I honestly don't know. a detailed tutorial would be very helpful. thanks.

I am assuming this probably isnt what your asking, but just in case it is..You can move the camera further away by pressing the S key or the down arrow, to get closer use the W key or the up arrow, to move from side to side use the D key(left) or A key(right) and to tilt the camera angle up use shift+W and if you want it to go down use shift+S
