Recent Videos showing modern Engines on iPhone
As some of you may have noticed, in the last time there are a few videos that show the iPhone 3GS/or iTouch running engines like Unreal Engine 3 at fluid FPS.
With the average specs of that device being a processor of 417-667 mhz and a DX8-level graphics card and 128mb RAM, i think it is VERY Unreal-istic that theese vids are real.
Even if one believes that "the iPhone 3GS is almsot the level of PS2" we can not await murderous specs.

So what do you think? Is that device actually capable of doing shit it can't or shouldn't be able to? (It is too weak for TB btw.)

I think this is all about the hype... Pure speculation. Free and viral advertisement (free publicity)
You know... Marketing gimmicks. Nothing new... In the end people will eventually end up buying a product for the sake of fashion rather than buying it because of the necessity.
As of now iphone has been nothing but a trendy overpriced junk. (sorry for saying the truth).
I doubt it will change. Mediocrity sells.

Well, I disagree with that. The iPhone is a pretty handy dandy little piece of work.

But there's no way that it can have even close to the amount of FPS. And no way is it even close to the power of a PS2.

Yeah, I kinda agree. Like, when I am out in public, I dont some super emersive game. I get wrapped up enough in my cheap rip-off of bejeweled as it is, god knows with this I miss my buss stop every single time.

I do know I have seen some pretty damn impressive graphics on an i-phone though. There is an FPS game on there now that plays a lot like Halo from what I hear, but Im guessing the engine is a bit more simplified than the Unreal engine.

As a previous owner of an iPhone, I would like to ask you if you've ever actually had one. Speaking from experience, it is one of the most convenient and useful electronics of our time. It's like a (low power) Macbook, planner, phone, and an iPod, with a touch screen thrown on for convenience and easy operation.

Not to mention I had never even understood what boredom was while an iPhone was in my possession. The apps and/or internet could keep me going for hours on end.

<decimat0r1> let those bitches try
Mostly agreed, it's practical use is quite stunning once you've found the right apps for the daily shit you do. Unfortunately the iTouch ain't got this 3G Network thingie.
