So my previous monitor has conked it, when turned on it just flashes white. Ive put it away and connected my widescrean tele to my computer instead, The desktop and internet browsers are fine but then almost anything else i use streches quite alot and ive tried to change the display mode of the tv but it wont let me.

Thats most likely because of the program your using has restricted resolution, I don't think this is possible to fix, unless you have a Troubleshoot file for it? Look through that and see what you can find.

Get another program. The one you have probably isn't the best. I'm sure your TV is in 16:9. And your PC is in 4: 3. So, put your PC in 16:9. I'm not sure if your card supports that or w/e, but it could work. If you dont know how, I heard this works wonders.

tried google, My desktop and internet browsers change resolution but most games (minecraft which doesnt have a troubleshoot manual) oh and toribash works fine.
