The background in the Itachi is just a filter..you didn't make the Itachi obviously too..
The fonts are just boring..
The second one...Dude,it's a googled image of...WTF is it?
It's just a black background..
Also try making in smaller in height,it looks cleaner,and add borders,makes it look nice

yes,add appropriate details.
See some tutorials,they actually help,but don't copy exactly what it was,pick up little things and add then into your art.

I mean details that actually fit with the picture.
Go on youtube and look at GimpKnowHow's tutorials,if you use gimp..

Dude,the thing is originality.
Try making abstract backgrounds.
Make something out of your imagination and make it by yourself 100% or maybe a little bit of brushes :P

No need for double post there, as for the image. I think the new background is definitely better than the old one however still doesn't feel to be the right thing. If you are going to use that character you are going to need a lot of colour and action, but it still has to be kept clean. I also think the font is a terrible choice. Sorry but 3/10.
