[IMG]Dark link sig
Hi, Rocklee here, and you may not know it, but I have a history of sig making, I dont show it, have been doing sigs since young.

At the age of 6-8, I made sigs, with my brother teaching me, I didn`t do much good work, but it was progress.
Then later, things happened, and suddenly, I moved on to flash. etc. etc. etc.

So here is a sig that I did today on my stepdad`s laptop.

@Kyro, Yes, I do get your point, I also realised it had rough edges.

Also, I think the top highlight square thing should be done with circle instead.

Keep commenting please.

font doesn't blend well, and neither does the character. There's no appearent light source and there's no basic effect besides a character against a background with some text. The background is good, but make it blend with the character, which it doesn't. Add some effect to the text and change the font, it just doesn't match.

I do infact like it, but it technically isn't good.
Try making the background relevant to the render, and in same style. That's an easy way to "blend the render in" with the background like everyone else was saying to do. And the font needs more effects.

Flash? I have never known anyone use flash to make sigs. Animation is normally distracting and annoying.

Anyways, for someone who is supposed to have such a history with sigs it was very lacking. You made basic mistakes such as, covering the focal with a weird black overlay and forgetting the 3 fundamentals of sigmaking; depth, flow and lighting.
Your sig looks quite flat, this is due to a lack of depth. Try and blur the background a bit to create a more 3D feel.

The flow is all over the place. The C4D used in the background is moving in a vast amount of directions.

I see no light source either.

The blending is also very lacking, the render juts out too much. The sig in general just looks like someone’s slapped a render on a C4D and added text. There aren’t really any effects and the text looks ugly. The weird black overlay is really quite distracting and annoying as well.

I highly recommend you read some tutorials to try and get a better understanding of depth, flow and lighting. Work on your blending as well.

Thank you very much for telling me what was wrong and hopefully I will get alot better later on.

I did not use flash for these sigs.

With the critisism, I took everything in and made this: Clicky

Next time it will be much better thanks to you, but for now, I have to go sleep, goodnight.
