1st version is really much much better.I love it!Some things I think you should still do:
-Add eyes.
-Instead of the blackbackground,maybe you should add something else,skin?
-Maybe bit more of details.

as wiliam said, add something else instead of black background, but dont add eyes it will not look good, but add chain hat or how its called but detailed then it will be 9/10 now 6/10
