Usually I could just double click on the title and change it, but now it doesn't work.

Has this been changed or is it just me?

If we're talking about boards wherein you're a local mod, then you can do Thread Tools -> Edit Thread within the thread that you'd like to rename.

I've got the same issue with renaming/closing from the main board view, as well.
