As the United States is generating more and more obese youth, the kids are always being blamed for being fat, over-weight, what ever you want to call it.
I'm a firm beliver that it isn't JUST their fault.

People are too soft sometimes. It's not okay to be fat. It is a major health risk.

The blame lies on irresponsible careless parents, who allow/encourage their kids to eat junk food. Children don't have the power to control their own diet, and frankly don't even have enough experience and judgment to know why they should care.

if a child is obese it is the parents fault. No blame rests with the kid, since they are a kid and can't comprehend the magnitude of situation.
As a child, I would have loved it if my parents had fed me only high calorie, sugar filled sweets all the time. It wouldn't have once crossed my mind that I was making unhealthy food choices if my parents did not tell me I was.
Point being, parents serve as dietitians for their children. If the parents are orchestrating an inevitable path to obesity, the child will most likely do nothing to stray away from it.
