9/10(could use a bit more shading)
The funny thing is, "more often" entails repetition. This is seriously my first. Loads of ref and shameless exploitation (shift-lines to see heights from said ref). I'm not sure what this'll do to the writer's block I already have...
As for the shading, as said, WIP. only the round bits are shaded, and even them only flatly. I'll dither the edges.

Subtle XD. Actually I agree. The thing is, I basically evolved any extensive understanding of perspective while drawing this, so I really don't know a lot of it. I'm not using lines, but I did subconsciously know to draw somewhat along them. Still, I know, especially the lower part is pretty fucked up.
Really not helping though. I sorta-figured out the hinge myself, luckily.
EDIT: Btw, the vanishing point is a bit below and behind the center of the cylinder.

Some people often Get the shapes wrong making the drawing look odd.
Of course you should find a way to blend the black outlines in the drawing or just use a darker grey tone for them.
I like the way you used the pencil tool.I personally i'm not too god at pixelated stuff.
"Nicely shaded" is a bit generous since it's a WIP... but yah, thanks. Also, I noticed the bottom of the receiver should be showing, that's fixed in the current version. I'll be dithering along all the edges, will see what that does to the jaggedness. Also, I think I'll add some sort of background, since it's next to impossible to dither black to white sneakily.
The lo-res is really semi-intentional. I have no other software (principle not to crack PS, no patience to learn GIMP, didn't really think of myself as a visual artist so Sai's out of the picture too. Besides, no tablet), so I used Paint, which makes for either a shitty job (working lower than 100% zoom all the time) or low resolution.
I used lines and curves (Shameless exploitation, I don't think I could freehand lines like that), and some pixel-scale pencilry.

Thank you all for the comments.
