You probably won't need to mess around with drivers. My Linux Mint 9 recognized the drivers automatically out of the box. Including the dedicated and special Fn keys on my Asus laptop and my HP and Epson printers.
It will ask you to install the graphics card drivers though (the proprietary ones). It'll pop up on the bar saying that "proprietary drivers are available for your software" (ATI or Nvidia drivers, depending on your graphics card brand). Its a one click install, though, since it will automatically suggest you the available driver.
But once you boot through the DVD, you'll be able to see if everything is working okay, prior to installation, since its a Live-CD the system will initially run from the CD and decompressed to the RAM.
