What all should I know about Linux?
Basically, I need to know everything I should know about linux that the linux community doesn't talk about.
also a question I have, can i get all the little extra things on the right side of my screen like the time of the day, the temperature of my CPU and what not?

other example:
Programs I should have
and an other info i need.

Thanks everyone.

That the linux community doesn't talk about? None... The community talks about everything... From third party software to the kernel.. ;)

IF you have any doubt, a quick google search will lead you to the solution.

For docks and info on the side:

1 - Dock: Avant Window Navigator (if you're on mint, you can download it from the Software Center)

2 - For the Clock, CPU, RAM and other info you can use Conky. Just download the conky-all package from the Software Center in Linux Mint then follow a how to such as: http://www.online-blogger.net/2009/1...conky-designs/

;)

Couldn't be easier. Its the same way you use to install. Just go to the software center. When its installed, instead of a "Install" button, you'll get a "Remove" button. ;)

have you inserted the right password? or are the updates running?
You can't use 2 softwares that deal with the APT at the same time.
