-Probably because they're bored, or they try to use it for something (for what i dont' know, maybe to get some info on something? )

Most viruses are for spam distrobution, botnets, or scams.

Hacking is usually done to get people's information, like their social security number, credit card, etc. Some people just do it for fun, because sometimes people think hacking other computers is fun. A virus is like a type of hack, as in like there is more than 1 way to hack. You can give people trojans, viruses, malware, etc. I don't think they really care if they get caught, or are super careful about what they do.
