Cube 2: Sauerbraten is not a new game by any means but it is a very good one that there is no thread about. It is a free quake-like fps with all the usual modes and such and it is really quite fun. It has singleplayer and multiplayer modes though the single player isn't very well done in my opinion. The multiplayer is the most fun mode for me as it has The engine is open-source and is built as a redesign of the original cube engine. Here are a few screenshots taken from the website.

Well fast paced fps is not my style, this reminds me more about unreal tourmanent then quake.
Im going to try this but i dont have any high expectations.

jxc1013, can you play toribash without any fps slowdown? If so, then you should be able to play it at low-medium settings. You can disable any of the features such as bloom and motion blur in the settings menu. Here are the official requirements.

Well, I'm running a 2.2 celeron with 2gb RAM. and 789mb video memory, so I guess I'll download it. Is the community active?

Normally there are about 7-8 servers online with about 10-15 people each. The community is active, yes. Right now, (I just stopped playing) there are 2 servers at the top with 30 people in each of them.

No offense, but it sucks. You're better off playing other free games.
