Secret Santa 2024
Original Post
Fallout: New Vegas.
I recently got Fallout and can honostly say I like it, like most games it can be glitchy at times but besides that, it's alright.

You start off in the game in a small town named Good Springs in a apocoliptic waste land (Like all the Fallout game series) Aparantly you got shot in the head and you where carrying a very important chip, you have no idea what said chip does or why it is so important, so you set off on a mission to go kill the guy that shot you in the skull.

I liked this fallout for it's new Hardcore Mode, this mode is optional in the begining of the game when you first are leaveing goodsprings. If you turn it on, you will be rewarded as if you leave it off you just play the game normaly.

Hardcore mode affects the game a few diffrent ways Stimpacks (main source of health in the game) can no longer fix crimpled limbs and heal over time, instead of instantly. To fix cripled limbs you must see a docter, or have a docters bag on you wich will cost you a hefty ammount of caps (the games currency)

Along with the stimpacks being knocked hard, you also have to sleep regulerly and eat and drink water, failing to do so will result in death. You also cant fast travel for extremly long distances in hardcore mode, or you will suffer from dehidration, and of course. Die. Hardcore mode can be turned off any time dureing your adventures in the waste land.

Apart from the new hardcore mode I like the new varity the game offers now, with over 3 diffrent endings it's playable over and over without being to repititive. Though, for better or for worse depending on your opinion unlike the last Fallout game you cant continue playing after the end, it simply stops.

For any of you wondering the map is about the same size as the last Fallout game, but revamped with new weapons, monsters, gangs and of course. Death Claws. Though unlike in the last game Death Claws can be found at levels lower then level 10, so watch yourself.

My mistakes >.>

At a part in the game if you fight against the Legion you have to fight one of Ceasar's body guards (I know I butchered his name dont troll me to hard) I, thinking I was super awesome, master blaster went in with only few bullets and a Service Rifle. Bad idea, I ended up haveing to set back an hour and replay to that point, at wich I hit him in the head a good 100 times and droped him, any other fall out players feel free to leave your adventure storys or dumb A mistakes.

All and all I give fallout a good 8/10 what did you think of it?

Of course, all Credits go to the makers of the game, Bethesda

Hmm, well in terms of dumb mistakes:
*Killing Mr. House too early
*Attempting to kill Mr. House too early
*Fighting that legion centurion or whoever he is with the fancy armour in the end-game
*Not levelling up speech
*Not repairing my remnant's power armor
*Freeing Benny in Caesar's tent
*Pissing off both the NCR and Legion and not doing anything about it
*Wondering why the hell the NCR kept shooting me till I realised I was wearing a Legion uniform.
*Ditto for wearing a NCR veteran uniform in Legion camps
*Going into that irradiated vault with only enough Rad-Away to get me halfway in

Most of those were in the same playthrough.
Also I laughed at how the Legion talk ("A way. True to kaisar" to write it as it sounds) even though that's likely what the Romans sounded like :P

LOL! that's worse then me, also I have been wondering what happens if you free Benny? I just put him on a cross and laughed. And the Armor thing is funny, I did the same thing with the Legion Centurion, that's what I was describeing.

Personally loved the game..
Really really fun and addicting!
Still, glitches way to much but nothing you care about later.

What happens when you free Benny?
A tent full of hostile, ballistic-fist wielding fanatics with ridiculous stats, that's what happens. Oh, and a positive karma boost. Benny got killed in the crossfire iirc.

Also, more dumb mistakes:
*Killing a Nightkin in the basement of the lab in the "Space Ghouls" quest arc (later found out you can get them to leave peacefully)
*Testing out Fisto (for the lulz)
*Not sure which is a bigger mistake but I did both: Turning Cass over to the Silver Rush goons, and in a different playthrough barely killing them all and saving Cass wasting valuable stimpaks in the process.

Adventure stories? Well there was the great time I had after finding the chinese stealth suits in Hoover Dam and then proceeding to pick off the workers and guards one by one using sneak attacks and Pushy my trusty displacer fist

I agree with you Jelly, in the end it all really dosnt matter the game was great.

And ZB, there is nothing positive that comes out of leting Benny go? Way to set up another death trap waiting to happen Bethessa

I think fallout 3's map was MUCH, MUCH larger than this one.
The game is pretty glitchy, as with FO3, but yeah, I love the plots on these games, and the somewhat sadistic jokes you can get with the wild wasteland trait.
I played the game without console commands, was rather fun, Now I'm redoing it on hardcore and very difficult, doing the opposite of what I did the first time.
Good fun.

.

It wast larger, the thing is that in fallout 3 the main quest was bringing you to more places then nv, and in fall out 3 you can continue play after you played through the game, ´there is an explination somewhere on the web why you cant continue play in new vegas. Thing is if you just follow the main quest the game will so much smaller.
I suggest you explore lots and eventually you will meet "hidden" characters and might get some quests etc.

Well, a sizeable "good" karma boost if that somehow outweighs the 90% chance of death :P
Also I think Benny lets you carry guns around The Tops casino later.
If the game was going to be a 10 they should of really took the time to work on the engine + work out most of the glitches.
My main problem with the game is just the engine sucks in nv and fo3
