Hey i'm in gimp but i don't know how to get something to flip to the opposite side but still have the object stay.

Example:

Chocolate etaclocohC

I am doing it for eyes on a tori head (:

First make a new layer. Then, Draw your eye. Then click Flip in your tool bar:

This should only flip the eye. Also, make sure you're flipping the right direction to see if you're flipping horizontally or vertically.
If you need to see the spinny, make sure that you merge the layers or it will only show the selected layer.

Yeah it flips it but i also need the eye to stay where it was at the start, so i have two eyes not just one :/

Did you copy the eye on the new layer and then paste and then flip it?

Select all, then flip the layer.
