much easier to see it now.

Anyway, can't really comment on it at such a beginning stage. Get some updates done and i'll edit this post.

Umm
thats really bad
theres no structure its just a background, a thick brush stroke, a mirror and a gradient.

Not the worst I saw.
It proves that you understand the basic concepts/filters of GIMP.
Try learning about using layers.
It can help greatly.

Hmm..
Your new WIP is slightly better than the original.
I like your concept: The vent in the back, and the "rusty robotic" trype of design.
Build on it.
Try doing whatever you do with reason.
